“The Body of Anna” organizes the working committees of the choir. Each committee is named after a body part. All parts combine, making up the whole of Anna Crusis. Each committee has a specific function, addressing the many jobs that are continually in play. From time to time a committee may need to partner with another committee to get the job done.
BREATH musical excellence
The members of BREATH, under the direction of the Artistic Director, assist in the execution of auditions, and meet throughout the year to discuss concert themes, repertoire and venues.
FACE marketing and publicity
FACE members help promote Anna’s mission, market concerts, coordinate with our webmistress to update the website and social media outlets, participate in street team posting, promote ticket sales, and organize the acquisition of program advertising.
HANDS nurturing our feminist community
The members of HANDS are involved with organizing membership related issues, including attendance, dues, rehearsal snacks, receptions & potlucks, retreats, alumni relations, conferences, and concert childcare. HANDS also organizes our volunteers (called CODA) to help with a variety of tasks throughout the year, especially at concert time.
HEAD history, outreach, archives
The members of HEAD act as the keepers of the Anna archives; helping to maintain the choir’s records, contributing to community outreach, and maintaining Anna’s social justice mission.
Members of HEAD also work in conjunction with members of FACE and HEART to help promote the public image of the choir.
HEART Board of Directors
Anna Crusis is registered in the State of Pennsylvania as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and as such is required to have a board of directors. The Board’s members are volunteers, singers and non-singers. The primary responsibilities of the Board are fundraising, fiscal accountability, community outreach and human resources management. Board members are selected by vote at Anna’s annual meeting. The Board meets once a month and all are welcome to attend. Board minutes are posted in the members section of the website.
The members of MUSCLE are responsible for all things related to concert production including: venue coordination, merchandise, managing instrumentalists and sound production, ad solicitation. They coordinate the logistics of tech rehearsals and performance dates, and help in tracking and maintaining an inventory of all sellable goods.
PULSE coordinating committee
PULSE is made up of one member from each of the other committees, as well any singer who is interested in taking up more of a leadership role. PULSE meets once a month and all are welcome to attend. Pulse minutes are posted in the members section of the website.
